Norway Goes Viral

This will be a short post.  The video pretty much speaks for itself.  I’ll just speak to it’s effect.

Here’s a video that is relatively simple.  It is essentially a music video.  But…with amazing shots of amazing locations.  We see more and more timelapse pieces on sites like Vimeo.  It is after all a way of taking us into a different mental place.  It evokes that trance like immersion into what is called the diegesis, or the world within the film.  It transports us not literally but mentally and spiritually into a more desirable place.  It touches a nerve, stimulates a desire, that we all have for adventure.  And it does it all without the models and makeup and clever catch phrase and overly produced look that tickles our cynicism buttons.  It’s authentic and quite frankly, quite dramatically makes me want to go to Norway.  Take a look at the Statistics on Vimeo and see how it hit a quarter million views in 3 days and 1.1M in 2 months.

Good authentic video has value, especially if you have amazing scenery like Norway.
